Under a Microscope
General News
Looking at objects under a microscope gives students a whole new perspective on everyday objects in their world. They may discover that something they thought was smooth is actually covered in little scratches. Or they may notice that something they thought was round actually has angles and straight edges. Recently 4 Teal looked at different materials through their microscopes, examining how individual fibres make up a particular piece of material. They discovered that materials that look similar to the naked eye are actually completely different when viewed through a microscope. What a fun activity that involved doing, seeing, thinking, questioning and discussing.
