Year 8 Jiu Jitsu Program
Headmaster's message
As a part of the College’s Wellbeing and Physical Activity program, a select number of our Year 8 students took part in a incursion run by Chris Sales, the Head instructor of Alpha Jiu Jitsu Rouse Hill. Chris is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and a highly sought after instructor both nationally and internationally. Chris and his team of talented practitioners ran a highly engaging session of defensive Jiu Jitsu skills, focussing on the importance of avoiding conflict, diffusing aggression and defending yourself in a manner that reflects humility and an attempt to minimise harm. The students were highly engaged, enjoying the life lessons that Jiu Jitsu has to offer, as well as learning practical skills to defend themselves against a bigger, more aggressive opponent. Both staff and students were very impressed and eager to incorporate more practical life skills into our Wellbeing program. Thank you to Chris and the Alpha Jiu Jitsu team.
